Update | I'm starting a new job.

Welp, it happened.

I was working for ADT security systems and I couldn't take it anymore. This was one of those, get over people sales jobs and I just can't-do it.

If you've ever seen guys walking around your neighborhood or your business with the blue stop sign on their chest, it was an ADT security salesman.

The job started out okay. I meet some really cool people, I got to travel to Texas but it's just not the sales job for me.

When I would call sold clients,  they would go off on me, yell at me and start talking about how annoyed they were with our services.

At first, I thought this would be a great company. Just think about it, we're protecting peoples homes, their families, their businesses, their investments. That's fulfilling.

But that was not the case.

People felt like we were getting over them. Now I'm not that type of salesman. I'm the type of salesman that likes selling things that make people happy and I help them get what they want and need.

Like after a purchase they felt like they received something they loved and they use it and it makes them feel fulfilled. Just like when I buy stuff.

But that was not the case. Most people felt like it was a waste of money. It's just one of those things that you need but doesn't really want to buy.

People really just wanted a low price and I don't blame them.

It's just like car insurance. You want the lowest price with the best coverage. But in the alarm business,  as long as the police are called most customers could really give a damn for the prices. There wasn't a HUGE benefit to going with ADT. At the end of the day, all the services were kinda the same.

ADT is the largest and first alarm company. They started the alarm business, that's cool. They have more service areas around the country to help customers. But they didn't put the customers first. They way they treated customers kinda sucked. With the company being so big, it took forever just to get a technician to come by and check your issues. Which didn't make any fucking sense?

They would try and charge customers for everything. The customer would call and they would be charged for a tech just to come look at their issues. It's fucking ludicrous.

At the end of the day, there was no real benefit going with them over any other alarm company that made them dramatically different.

They weren't innovative, they weren't up to date on new technology. Just another old company that's waiting for some new dope tech company to come take it over.lol

Sorry I had to get that out. That job was so hyped out when I started. They really knew how to paint the dream. smh

Sooo you're probably thinking. Okay, Travis. You're quitting ADT, now what are you going to do?

To be honest, I wanted to work for an advertising agency. I've been submitting application after application and they have not responded to me. That's my dream.

Just imagine coming into work, wearing regular clothes. I have swag I'll look good and using my mind to build businesses and create innovative things, come up with different strategies and make companies succeed and grow. That's what the fuck I'm talking about. That's the dream.

But it's taking to long for a response. I'm a father, my wife is a stay at home mom and I'm the bread winner. On top of that, I live in one of the most beautiful and expensive places in the country, San Diego. Sooo, I had to make a rational decision and go back to what I know, what I like and what I'm good at. And I'm back to selling vehicles.

Yes, cars. My boy works at the local Honda dealership and I called just to say what up and it turned into me asking him, " Hey bro, yall hiring"?

When I told him that, he said they have an opening in their Internet department. I was like oh shit that'll be dope. Then this guy says, " hold on bro, let me see if I could get you an interview".

15 minutes later he calls me back and says come down to the shop and let the general manager interview you today. I was like ohh shit.lol

So of course, I went down, got interviewed and got hired on the spot.

I'm still going through the hiring process but I was interviewed by two of the managers and they obviously liked me since they hired real quick. So, I'm almost officially a new internet salesman at DCH Honda in Mission Valley.

This shit happened way too quick.lol

I needed a new job though. I didn't go into too much detail on how this job at ADT drained my bank account. I'm fuckin living on fucking credit cards right now.smh All bad.

But we'll see how it works out.

I'm still not giving up my dream of working at an advertising agency. I just want the experience to help me build my own agency. Hopefully, this new job puts me a better financial situation to help build my agency like I want.

I will never give up on my dream.

I might have to do some Grant Cardone stuff and start a youtube channel talking about sales and success. Who knows. lol

One thing I do know is, I'm selling cars again and people love buying cars. People love Hondas, I even own a Honda.lol

I know when I follow up with my clients, they'll be happy and excited about their purchase. I can have fun with my customers again and make people smile again. I'm kinda of excited.

I gotta get outta here and get through my last week here at ADT. Watch me start selling a bunch of alarms before I leave.lol

I wouldn't even care, I'm so over it. I'm thankful for this new opportunity, wish me luck.

Have a great day today bruh bruh. Talk to you soon.
